ABOUT ME
I'm Rosemary Sales, the director of the Wye Knot Community. I’m passionate about connecting and empowering communities through nature. In 2018, I founded the Wye Knot Community to ignite meaningful interactions between young and old. My journey began as an activities director, igniting my dedication to enriching lives. Earning my management diploma spurred me to create inclusive experiences across ages and settings. From pioneering interational groups to leading movement therapy for seniors, I strive to make a difference. My proudest achievements include "Playing," Herefordshire's first intergenerational playgroup, co-creating "WyldWood," a newspaper bridging generations during the pandemic, being part of the River Carnival, and all my intergenerational forest school projects. My love for the outdoors led me to become a Paddle Boarding and Forest School leader. I am currently running a forest schooling project in an independent school that provides specialist education to boys aged 11 to 18 years with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH needs, who are also Children in Care.
The River Wye is very close to heart. It’s a place of incredible beauty and tranquility, but like many waterways, it faces challenges. Through Wye Knot Women’s Wilderness Trips and paddle boarding, I hope to inspire a new generation to in love with the river, fostering a sense of appreciation and responsibility its future. Now, I guide women's wilderness adventures, combining river exploration with nature immersion in the UK and around the world. Witnessing upon faces fuels my passion. Whether fostering connections, promoting well-being, or sharing outdoor adventures, I'm dedicated to making a positive impact. Let's embark on a journey together explore my website to learn more!
Wye Knot Community is now proudly a member of the Herefordshire &estershire Chamber of Commerce, a move that reflects our commitment professional growth, collaboration, and community impact. This affiliation adds an extra layer of legitimacy the work we do, helping us connect with local partners and reach people with our mission.
We’re also thrilled to share that I now volunteer with West Mercia and Rescue (WMSAR), having passed my assessment in April. It’s a huge honor to be part of a dedicated team, supporting our region in times of need I feel especially connected to the River Wye—it’s where I found healing, strength, and purpose—and I’m passionate about giving back to the very that have given so much to me.
